Baseball Recap: Hannibal's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hannibal waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Pulaski Blue Devils. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 12-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Earl Hofmann made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Hofmann was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Emmons, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Alex Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hannibal's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pulaski, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hannibal is set to take on their familiar foe Jordan-Elbridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pulaski will face off against rival Port Byron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
