Josh Kim tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Ryan Kurre was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Evan Frangas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Herricks had to kick off their season on the road on April 8th, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over Carle Place.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Herricks, their record is now 1-0.
