Last Friday, Benton escaped with a win against Lake Hamilton by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41.
Lakeside posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against El Dorado and snuck past 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Lakeside has posted against El Dorado since January 29, 2019.
Lakeside found their leader in underclassman Mckenzie Williams, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Ava Allison was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Benton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Lakeside, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
Benton took their victory against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 67-44. Will Benton repeat their success, or does Lakeside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
