The Grove Ridgerunners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-40 loss at the hands of Booker T. Washington. While losing is never fun, Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Hornets are ranked 14th).
It was another big night for Barron Harris jr., who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Booker T. Washington. Another player making a difference was Jamarri Simpson, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Grove will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Jay is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Booker T. Washington, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Tahlequah's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
