Luke Johnson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 71 yards and four TDs. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lake Havasu's defense and their eight sacks. Vincent Fiantaca led the group effort, picking up 2.5 of those sacks all by himself. Ethan Adler has become a key player for Lake Havasu: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one sack, but 1-2 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills fought the good fight in their overtime game against Deer Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyhawks.
Lake Havasu will need to focus on slowing down Mickey Raftery, one of several Estrella Foothills players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 49 yards. Gavin Knebel was in the mix as well, providing Estrella Foothills with two scores.
Lake Havasu has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Estrella Foothills, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Lake Havasu against Estrella Foothills when the teams last played back in October of 2021, as the team secured a 47-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
