On Friday, Whitehorse was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to Maeser Prep Academy.
Despite the loss, Whitehorse still got an impressive performance from Lyric Phillips, who scored 26 points. Phillips scored a full 57.8% of Whitehorse's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Larenz Tsosie, who scored 11 points.
Whitehorse now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Maeser Prep Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Whitehorse is on the road again on Saturday and play against Valley at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Valley is ranked 54th, while Whitehorse is ranked 70th). As for Maeser Prep Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pinnacle at 3:00 p.m.
