It was a good run, but the North Daviess Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 39-26 to Barr-Reeve. North Daviess was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Barr-Reeve apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Wehmeier led the charge by scoring 11 points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Seth Wagler, who scored nine points along with five steals.
North Daviess' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Barr-Reeve, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Daviess will take on Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clay City is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Barr-Reeve, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shoals at 7:30 p.m. Shoals will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 69th).
