After flying high against the Layton Lancers last Friday, the Fremont Silverwolves came back down to earth. Fremont took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Davis on Friday. While losing is never fun, Fremont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Davis is ranked fifth).
Fremont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abigail Christensen, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ama Herrick, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Davis found their leader in underclassman T'Maea Eteuati, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Eteuati has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Kate Willard was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Fremont now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Davis, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Fremont will be playing at home against Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is coming into the match with four straight wins on the road, meaning Fremont will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Davis, they will square off against Layton at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three matches.
