Basketball Recap: Kylie Finley Key Part of a Team Effort in Cavaliers Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Patrick Henry Academy, St. John's Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pinewood Prep Panthers with a sharp 45-23 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cavaliers have posted since February 13, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John's Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kylie Finley, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Finley is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Brunson, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points.

St. John's Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Pinewood Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's Christian Academy will take on Williamsburg Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. John's Christian Academy is facing Williamsburg Academy at the right time seeing as Williamsburg Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Pinewood Prep, they will challenge Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
