The Windsor Jaguars and the El Cerrito Gauchos squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Windsor Jaguars had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gauchos by a score of 34-31. Windsor's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Windsor's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Anderson, who picked up 91 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Max McFerren was another key contributor, picking up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2-1. As for El Cerrito, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. El Cerrito will head out on the road to face off against Los Gatos at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Los Gatos is on a four-game streak of home wins, El Cerrito a three-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
