West Ashley waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 75-68 victory over the Fort Dorchester Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2025.
West Ashley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maurice Cannon out in front who shot 63% from the field to rack up 15 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Those 63% field goal percentage gave Cannon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Jenkins, who went 6-for-12 en route to 19 points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: West Ashley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Dorchester only racked up seven.
Loss or not, Fort Dorchester got some senior leadership from Tyquez Jenkins and DeOndre Haynes. Jenkins shot 78% from the field on his way to 15 points and three steals, while Haynes went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points. Jenkins has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Morris, who posted seven points.
West Ashley's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Fort Dorchester, they dropped their record down to 11-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
