The Shelley Russets put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 73-59 win over Skyline. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shay Shippen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. Taya Tews was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Shelley's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. As for Skyline, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Shelley will take on Blackfoot at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Blackfoot's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to challenge Idaho Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Idaho Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Skyline is ranked 23rd).
