Broomfield really took it to Roosevelt for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-52 win on the road. Given Broomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Roosevelt is ranked 277th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Broomfield to victory were Ethan Zufall and Blaes Kane. Zufall scored 11 points along with six steals and five assists, while Kane scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Will Lapham, who scored 13 points.
Roosevelt's loss came despite strong showings from Seppe Salvatore and Nolan Peterson. Salvatore dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Peterson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Salvatore set a new season high mark in blocks with two.
Broomfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Roosevelt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Broomfield will head out on the road to face off against Holy Family at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holy Family will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Roosevelt will be home for the holidays to greet Peak to Peak at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Peak to Peak is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
