The Denair Coyotes will take on the Gustine Reds at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Denair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Denair is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Stone Ridge Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Coyotes have lost by just one run.

Ava Zazueta

| 03/18/26 @ Mariposa County | 3 |
| 03/13/26 vs Downey | 3 |
| 03/11/26 @ Johansen | 6 |
Denair saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Zazueta, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Zazueta is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Waterford hit Gustine with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Reds fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4.
Malia Huhane was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Huhane was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and three stolen bases.
In other batting news, Jaclynn Lopez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Kolby Watts also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Denair's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Gustine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Denair has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gustine struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Denair got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Gustine by a conclusive 14-8 score. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Reds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
