Despite the defeat, Parklane Academy saw an underclassman step up: Zoe Alford scored 21 points. Alford scored a full 60% of Parklane Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Jackson Prep back to even at 7-7. As for Parklane Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson Prep will challenge Leake Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Parklane Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri-County Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Tri-County Academy is ranked 97th, while Parklane Academy is ranked 88th).
