The Hunters Lane Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 14th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Antioch, falling 74-40. The match was a close 25-23 at the break, but unfortunately for Hunters Lane it sure didn't stay that way.
Hunters Lane's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Reggie Owens jr., who scored ten points, and Michael Small who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens jr. has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amarien Kelly, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hunters Lane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antioch only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Jaiden Claybrook, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Antioch. Claybrook hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddux Bodenhamer, who scored 15 points.
Hunters Lane dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Antioch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane will take on Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillsboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 582 points over their last nine games. As for Antioch, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against McGavock at 7:30 p.m. McGavock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Antioch is ranked 76th).
