The Rockport-Fulton Pirates had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Calhoun 32-31 on Friday. The win was just what Rockport-Fulton needed coming off of a 67-38 loss in their prior contest.
Rockport-Fulton was led to victory by Kaila Flaherty and Allie Garcia. Flaherty scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and four steals, while Garcia dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Garcia also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Rockport-Fulton's win bumped their record up to 9-23. As for Calhoun, they dropped their record down to 9-22 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Rockport-Fulton has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th. Ingleside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in Texas (the Mustangs are ranked 467th, while the Pirates are ranked 1246th). Calhoun's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. West Oso is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
