Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Pike County Bulldogs walked away with it. They snuck past the Bobcats with a 47-41 victory on Monday. Pike County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Opp still got an impressive performance from TaKyra Crittenden, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crittenden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cuba Wiggins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Opp smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their 14th loss (out of 18 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Pike County's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Opp, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.
Pike County is on the road again on Wednesday and plays New Brockton at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Pike County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Opp does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
