The Rye Thunderbolts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They managed a 37-33 victory over James Irwin. The victory was some much needed relief for Rye as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Rye found their leader in underclassman Abrianna Chianelli, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chianelli has scored all season. Taci Ehrlich was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Rye's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for James Irwin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rye's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Thunderhawks at 3:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for James Irwin, they will challenge the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Salida presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Jaguars in Colorado (the Spartans are ranked 145th, while the Jaguars are ranked 306th).
