Lakeshore is 8-2 against Loranger since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Lakeshore will head out on the road to face off against the Loranger Wolves at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeshore has six straight victories, Loranger has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lakeshore scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pearl River as Lakeshore made off with a 88-67 win. Lakeshore has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.
Lakeshore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caiden Bickham, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. Bickham is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Guth, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Loranger lost to Archbishop Hannan at home by a decisive 66-50 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Loranger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Archbishop Hannan is ranked 27th).
Lakeshore's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-10. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.3 points. As for Loranger, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Lakeshore took their win against Loranger in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 70-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeshore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
