The Randle Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lamar Consolidated 70-19 at home. The result was nothing new for Randle, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Randle found their leader in underclassman Landen Callis-Williams, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Callis-Williams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Sincere Timpson was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Despite the loss, Lamar Consolidated still got an impressive performance from Ja?lace Embry, who picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Randle's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Rudder and 2-7 Lamar Consolidated (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Lamar Consolidated, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Randle will head out on the road to face off against Rudder at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rudder will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Randle is ranked 111th). As for Lamar Consolidated, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. Montgomery is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
