Germantown extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 6 this week by beating Florence, 45-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Mavericks.
Mendenhall made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,992 from 5,636. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 64-20 victory over Raymond last week.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Khadarel Hodge and Julius Craft proved tough for the Rangers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hodge threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns and Craft had 125 yards receiving. Jarva Brewer helped Mendenhall's passing attack out by catching five balls for 103 yards.
Chester Lewis was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 149 yards on 10 carries as Germantown beat Raymond. Teammate Travis Singleton added to the ground attack by rushing for 148 yards.
The Eagles' Cole Robinson and Dalton Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Robinson has thrown for 1344 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 38 catches for 792 yards. Singleton from Tim Shramek's team leads the league in rushing with 830 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region 6 this week will be when the Mavericks take on Magee. Germantown is in third place, while the Trojans are in first place.
Paul Purvis' team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Ray Durr's team. Hodge ran for 108 yards in the win.
