The Steward Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They ended the year with a bang, routing Morristown-Hamblen West 58-38. With that victory, Steward brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Leading Steward to victory were Sanai Green and Tori West. Green dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while West scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Green's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hali Harris, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Steward's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Steward won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bearden at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. Bearden is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, they will look to defend their home court on January 5, 2024 against Morristown-Hamblen East at 6:00 p.m.
