The Bethune Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Weldon Valley Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bethune has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
Last Thursday, Bethune took a serious blow against the Wolves, falling 62-20. Bethune was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.
Wyatt King put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored six points.
Meanwhile, Weldon Valley came up short against the Wildcats on Friday and fell 40-32. Weldon Valley has struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Bethune dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.1 points per game. As for Weldon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Bethune skirted past the Warriors 43-41 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bethune since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
