The Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Millburn 60-34. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Newark Collegiate Academy had established a 20 point advantage.
Millburn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dylan Wolk, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Santi Carrera fern?ndez, who scored eight points.
Millburn struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Newark Collegiate Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Millburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.
Newark Collegiate Academy will be playing at home against the Mounties at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montclair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked 30th). As for Millburn, they will head out on the road to challenge the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belleville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
