The West County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 65-33 loss at the hands of Ste. Genevieve. West County was down 46-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Ste. Genevieve's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiki Asher, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Asher has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Staffen, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
West County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Ste. Genevieve, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ste.
