Jacobs is 10-0 against McHenry since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. On Wednesday, Jacobs came up short against Central and fell 64-52. Jacobs has not had much luck with Central recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Treval Howard, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Jurzak, who scored 17 points.
Even though McHenry has not done well against Hampshire recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. McHenry had just enough and edged Hampshire out 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory McHenry has posted yet this season.
Jacobs bumped their record down to 8-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for McHenry, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Jacobs was able to grind out a solid victory over McHenry in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 65-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jacobs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
