Basketball Recap: Mother Mcauley Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Evie Skog and Quinn Arundel

It was a good run, but Mother McAuley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 55-44 to the Providence Catholic Celtics. The Mighty Macs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Celtics apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mother McAuley had strong showings from Quinn Arundel, who posted 13 points, and Evie Skog, who scored 15 points. The dominant performance gave Skog a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Taji Alexa, who put up nine points and three steals.

Mother McAuley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Providence Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Mother McAuley has already played their next game (against DePaul College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Providence Catholic has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Montini Catholic.
