The Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. One thing working in Middle Tennessee Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Last Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Middle Tennessee Christian in a 57-39 win over Franklin Road Academy.
Middle Tennessee Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Graham out in front who scored 24 points. Graham continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ashley Rucker was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy of Knoxville earned a 58-46 win over Grace Christian Academy last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Christian Academy of Knoxville can attribute much of their success to Maddie Braden, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Izzy Proffitt, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Braden is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Carroll, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Middle Tennessee Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Middle Tennessee Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Christian Academy of Knoxville, though, as they've been averaging only 31.9 rebounds per game. Given Middle Tennessee Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Christian Academy of Knoxville will need to find a way to close that gap.
Middle Tennessee Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Christian Academy of Knoxville in their previous matchup back in March, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory.
