The Big Walnut Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Dublin Scioto Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Big Walnut was able to grind out a solid victory over Westerville North, taking the game 3-1.
Big Walnut had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-21.

Big Walnut's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Peyton Gordon, who had 16 digs and three assists, and Audrey Coulson, who had ten digs and three aces. Coulson has been hot, having also posted 22 or more assists the last six times she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Big Walnut was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matches.
Dublin Scioto had won four straight games and Olivia Konerman did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Irish blew past Hayes 3-0 thanks in part to Konerman, who had 23 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.
Dublin Scioto's got stronger as the match went on, holding Hayes to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-11.
Big Walnut's record is now 15-4. As for Dublin Scioto, their record now sits at 16-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Big Walnut has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Dublin Scioto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Big Walnut skirted past Dublin Scioto 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
