Youngsville and Seneca are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Eagles will take on the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Youngsville has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Youngsville after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Northwestern by a score of 12-11. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Youngsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Baker, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The Eagles are 5-1 when Baker posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca). They put the hurt on Eisenhower with a sharp 18-0 victory on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bobcats with their most commanding win of the season.
Jared Gladitz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gladitz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Seneca got a massive performance out of Kendall Yosten, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Yosten has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Seneca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win made it two in a row for Seneca and bumps their season record up to 4-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Youngsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Youngsville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seneca struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Youngsville beat Seneca 11-7 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
