Softball Recap: Shadow Hills Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Shadow Hills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Palm Springs Indians get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Knights have won 11 contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyla Zazueta made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Zazueta was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Shadow Hills got a massive performance out of Alexa Lua, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Lua a new career-high. Annabelle Alvarez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Shadow Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Shadow Hills' record is now 17-3. As for Palm Springs, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Shadow Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-6 victory against Rancho Mirage on the 2nd. As for Palm Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-0 loss against Palm Desert on the 2nd.
