The Beaver Falls Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Steel Valley Ironmen at 2:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Beaver Falls walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Washington on Friday and snuck past 28-26. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Beaver Falls was the better team in the second half.
Meanwhile, Steel Valley had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They came out on top against Mohawk Area by a score of 34-21.
Donald Barksdale continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 257 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 74 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Barksdale hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
Beaver Falls is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Steel Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Beaver Falls might still be hurting after the 34-14 loss they got from Steel Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Beaver Falls, Cruce Brookins (who rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
