The Zephyrhills Bulldogs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Blake Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Zephyrhills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Blake is ranked 80th).
Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly Zephyrhills had to settle for second. They fell 55-47 to the Wildcats. Zephyrhills has struggled against Wesley Chapel recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
After soaring to a 23-point win in their last game, Blake came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Jesuit by a score of 46-44. It was the first time this season that Blake let down their fans at home.
Blake's loss came about despite a quality game from Joe Philon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Philon hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. Joshua Lewis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Zephyrhills' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Blake, their defeat ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-5.
