Last Monday, Cooper couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were given a punishing 0-62 loss at the hands of Highlands.
Newport Central Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game against Scott last week 20-12. The score was all tied up at the break, but Newport Central Catholic was the better team in the second half.
Newport Central Catholic's lifted them to 1-0 while Cooper's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Newport Central Catholic can add another positive mark to their record or if Cooper can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Newport Central Catholic's step.
