Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millikan). They blew past the Jordan Panthers 13-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Rams have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Riley McAndrew made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Millikan got a massive performance out of Desirae Melena, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Liana Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Millikan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jordan, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9.
Coincidentally, Millikan and Jordan will both be playing Compton the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Tarbabes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rams will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
