Highland is 9-0 against Liberty Common since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Highland Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Liberty Common Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Highland will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Highland beat Eaton 68-58. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Reds are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sawyer Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. Morgan has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 24 times he's played. Dom Huntington was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points.
Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
Liberty Common has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Stargate School. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Liberty Common has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Highland will need focus on slowing down Pierce Richardson, one of several Liberty Common players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Baldwin, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.
Highland pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Liberty Common, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
Highland strolled past Liberty Common in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 54-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
