4A Region III District 19 recap Oct. 16, 2012
King moved up to 552 from 585 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 19. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating New Caney 21-3.
Dayton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Humble, 49-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Jaylon Henderson and Jaylon Henderson gave Kingwood Park a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Henderson threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while Henderson ran for 96 yards. Teammate Kedrick Gipson added to the ground attack by rushing for 26 yards.
Jaylon Zallicoffer was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wildcats fell to Dayton. Zallicoffer tallied three receptions for 91 yards. Chette Veal helped Humble's passing attack out by catching two balls for 23 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Devlin Isadore of Porter is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1210. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Crosby's Austin Walter has rushed for 960 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Justin Walter. The Crosby star has 20 catches for 407 yards.
Walter of the the Cougars is only 40 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Summer Creek takes on Humble. The Bulldogs are in first place, while Charles West's team is in eighth place.
Barbers Hill led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Spartans.
