The Wewahitchka Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by Port St. Joe 65-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Wewahitchka has suffered since November 28, 2023.
Zay Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Port St. Joe, scoring 25 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jenkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Harris, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Wewahitchka's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Port St. Joe, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wewahitchka will take on Wakulla Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Port St. Joe, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Arnold at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th.
