The Sabinal Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Stockdale Brahmas at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Sabinal came up short against Lee Academy of Science & Engineering and fell 56-44. Sabinal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sabinal might have lost, but man, Ricardo Perez was a machine: he scored 23 points along with three steals. Perez hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Andres Reyes, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Stockdale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Falls City by a score of 31-29.
Sabinal's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-13. As for Stockdale, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-17.
Sabinal didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Stockdale in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. Will Sabinal repeat their success, or does Stockdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
