After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, The Salina Wildcats brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Caney Valley 60-6 at home. The win was just what Salina needed coming off of a 42-12 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Salina to victory were Eli Swarer and Cooper Hooker. Swarer threw for 240 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Hooker gained 208 total yards and four touchdowns. Hooker was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Even if they lost, Caney Valley's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Salina's QB won't forget Cooper Fogle anytime soon given Fogle sacked him five times.
Salina's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Caney Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Salina will head out on the road to face off against Nowata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nowata is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Caney Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rejoice Christian. Rejoice Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Caney Valley in Oklahoma (Rejoice Christian is ranked 106th, while Caney Valley is ranked 250th).
