The Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Challenger with points to spare, taking the game 70-51. With that win, Pinnacle Classical Academy brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.
Leading Pinnacle Classical Academy to victory were Cody Humphries and Braylon Gentry. Humphries scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals, while Gentry scored 31 points. The contest was Gentry's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Evan Bridges, who scored 4 points along with 8 assists and 7 steals.
Several Firebirds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braelon Roe, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Annis, who scored 21 points.
The victory got Pinnacle Classical Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Challenger, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will play host again and welcome The Master's Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Challenger, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy at 6:45 p.m.
