Gholson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Bynum Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gholson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bynum in Texas (Gholson is ranked 356th, while Bynum is ranked 1508th).
Last Tuesday, Gholson took a serious blow against Covington, falling 63-33. The loss was Gholson's first of the season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lane Kunkel, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Thomas, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Bynum's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 32-31 to Aquilla.
Gholson's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.33 points. As for Bynum, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-8 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Gholson was dealt a bruising 73-25 loss at the hands of Bynum in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Gholson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
