Softball Recap: Wood-Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Wood-Ridge extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 10-4. Everything went their way against the Becton Wildcats as they made off with a 13-2 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Becton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

For Becton's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiara Ariza, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood-Ridge will welcome Weehawken at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Becton, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Livingston at 9:00 a.m.
