It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The St. John's Cadets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Gonzaga out 23-20. That's another feather in the cap for St. John's, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Da'Jaun Riggs, who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Breyon Williams, who gained 132 total yards.
Lincoln Fisher and Aidan Conrath certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Fisher picked up 198 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Conrath threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns.
St. John's now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Gonzaga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
St. John's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gonzaga also has no future games currently scheduled.
