The Mullen Mustangs won the last time they faced the Lakewood Tigers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Mullen claimed a resounding 79-45 victory over Lakewood on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Mullen has managed all season.
It was another big night for Jordan Leslie, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anderson Brendle, who scored 22 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Colin Giguere, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jake Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Mullen and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Lakewood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mullen will take on Aurora Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Aurora Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they will be playing at home against Wheat Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
