The Parkland Matadors will head out to face off against the Del Valle Conquistadores at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Parkland got the win against Hanks by a conclusive 11-1. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Samantha Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Faith Avila was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Devyn Rodriguez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Parkland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Del Valle got themselves on the board against Horizon on Friday, but Horizon never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Scorpions with a sharp 21-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Conquistadores, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Like Parkland, Del Valle also got a great game from a two-way player: Andrea Salcedo. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Salcedo posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Del Valle got a massive performance out of Clarissa Cepeda, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Alexa Favela also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Parkland's record now sits at 13-10. As for Del Valle, their record is now 14-9-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parkland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422. However, it's not like Del Valle struggles in that department as they've averaged .428. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parkland came up short against Del Valle in their previous matchup back in February, falling 8-4. Can Parkland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
