The Dr. Phillips Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Plant Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Dr. Phillips rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-15 win over Olympia. The win was just what Dr. Phillips needed coming off of a 37-10 defeat in their prior match.
The critical scores for Dr. Phillips came from Cameran Dixon and Amari Major.
Meanwhile, Plant entered their tilt with Plant City with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Plant secured a 31-27 W over Plant City on Friday.
Among those leading the charge was Waltez Clark, who rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Chase Jarrett, who gained 99 total yards and a touchdown.
Dr. Phillips is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Plant, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record.
Dr. Phillips strolled past Plant in their previous meeting back in November of 2014 by a score of 24-10. Does Dr. Phillips have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
