The Lugoff-Elgin Demons had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 52-47 win over Irmo on Friday. For Lugoff-Elgin, this counts as revenge for the 49-39 loss Irmo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Lugoff-Elgin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nigel Chivers led the charge by scoring 13 points. Savon Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lugoff-Elgin's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18. As for Irmo, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-20.
Lugoff-Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Irmo, they will head out on the road to take on Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilson will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Irmo surely won't give up without a fight.
