This season hasn't been kind to the Elkton Golden Elks, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They suffered a tough 55-32 loss at the hands of Greater Grace Christian Academy on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Elkton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Greater Grace Christian Academy is ranked 70th).
Several Golden Elks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Solmaris Diaz-Lugo, who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diaz-Lugo has scored all season.
Elkton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
